ENSURE HEALTHY LIVES & PROMOTE WELL-BEING FOR ALL AT ALL AGES
Poor health constitutes suffering and deprivation of the most fundamental kind. Not only does disease impact the well-being of an individual, but it also burdens family and public resources, weakens societies, and squanders potential. The health and well-being of people of all ages, therefore, lie at the heart of sustainable development. Protection from disease is not only fundamental to survival, but it enables the opportunity for everyone and strengthens economic growth and prosperity.
A holistic approach to better health will require ensuring universal access to healthcare and to making medicine and vaccines affordable. It also calls for a renewed focus on mental health issues.
And finally, health and wellbeing are closely linked with the quality of our environment, and it also aims to substantially reduce the numbers of deaths and illnesses caused by air, water, and soil pollution and contamination.
Healing through Nature: Himalayan traditional medicines practices.
Health care is an important part to run any project especially in the Himalayan villages:
- Mostly the hospitals are in the nearest towns & for emergency purposes, this is very tough for people to manage.
- It is not considered auspicious for the family when the women are menstruating. They have to sit outside on the balcony of the house (day/night) for as many days as they are menstruating. Not allowed to go anywhere or inside the house.
